An Initiative for Family and Local History
To ensure the proper preservation of important documents, records and family papers, we have initiated Preserving New England's Records, a multi-year preservation project headed by Dr. Ralph J. Crandall, Executive Director Emeritus of the Society.
Millions of unique and priceless treasures and manuscripts are currently housed in our R. Stanton Avery Special Collections-a state- of-the-art, climate-controlled archival facility, located in our Boston Library.
The collection contains the notes of many fellow genealogists, unpublished family genealogies, Bible records, cemetery and vital records, diaries, family letters, account books, 19th century photographs, business records, church, town, institutional and military records, and much more.
PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING YOUR COLLECTION TO THE NEW ENGLAND HISTORIC GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY
For more information about donating papers to Preserving New England's Records, please contact Dr. Ralph Crandall at 617-536-5740 x238 or at rcrandall@nehgs.org.
The Society is also seeking support to endow this important initiative, and you can help ensure the preservation of family, town and community records by making a contribution through the Development office at 617-226-1238. Printable Brochure here.
