I. Note: --The reader will please observe that in the references at the
left some read similar to this, - 72 - 141, others, I 72 I 132 2 14 2 117.
The first has reference to the book of records previous to 1843 of which
there is only one covering from the incorporation of the town in 1812 to
above date. The book commencing with 1843 is called book No. 1, and is so
designated also in births and deaths. No. 2 of births, marriages and deaths
has the figure 2 to each separate book and follows in order from No. 1. When
the intention date is later than the marriage, it shows that notice had been
given previous to marriage as required by law and this is the date of the
offcial recording of the previous notice whose exact date
is not given.
