GENEALOGISTS

MARIE DALY is director of the library at NEHGS. Her research expertise includes Irish immigration to Newfoundland and emigration to Prince Edward Island. She had extensively researched the Darcy (later Dorsey) and Ryan families, from which she descends, and has published a Dorsey genealogy. Marie is past president and cofounder of The Irish Ancestral Research Association (TIARA) and has researched, lectured, and published in the field of Irish genealogy for more than thirty years.

DAVID ALLEN LAMBERT is the Online Genealogist at NEHGS.  More than half of David’s ancestry hails from Atlantic Canada.  He has led the research tours from NEHGS to New Brunswick, and to Nova Scotia.  His paternal great grandmother was born at St. Lawrence, Newfoundland in 1858, being descended from an English family who settled in Newfoundland in the mid-18th century.  The last of his family actually left Newfoundland in 1911.  David has over 25 years experience researching the records of Atlantic Canadians, and first hand experience working in the archives in St. Johns.

JUDY LUCEY is assistant archivist at NEHGS. Judy's Newfoundland research interests include Irish migration and settlement patterns, the early history and settlement of Newfoundland (ca. 1610-1836), the communities of the eastern Placentia Bay district and the family surnames of Foley, Walsh, O'Keefe, O'Brien, Murphy, Greene, and Tobin.
