NEHGS Actively Seeks Donations of Books and Manuscripts

NEHGS encourages our members and friends to consider donating their genealogical materials. Books gifted to NEHGS will be added to our Research or Circulating Libraries as new titles or replacement copies. If not directly needed in the collection, duplicate copies of books may be resold to benefit the NEHGS Book Preservation Fund.

Many researchers own unique manuscript items. These may include early diaries, correspondence, bible records, deeds, family papers, charts, and unpublished works. Donations of such items to NEHGS form the basis of our amazing manuscript collection. Many researchers may wish to plan for the eventual disposition of their family collections. NEHGS is the perfect place to preserve and protect your family treasures, and make them available to future generations of family history researchers.

For more information on making a donation of books, manuscripts, or other items to NEHGS, please contact our archivist, Timothy Salls, by email or at 617-536-5740 ext.232.
