Reception, Benefit Dinner and Presentation by Mary Beth Norton, author of In The Devil's Snare: The Salem Witchcraft Crisis of 1692
You are cordially invited to attend the New England Historic Genealogical Society's Annual Benefit Dinner to support the Bringing Your Heritage Home Campaign on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Algonquin Club, Boston. Guest speaker Mary Beth Norton, distinguished scholar and author of In The Devil's Snare: The Salem Witchcraft Crisis of 1692, will discuss how genealogical research on her own family informed her work on the Salem Witch Trials in a talk entitled "Re-examining History: Using Genealogy to Understand Our Past."
Ticket prices are $250 for Donor ($150 tax-deductible) or $500 for Patron ($350 tax-deductible) and include cocktails, lecture, and dinner. Patrons are invited to attend an exclusive pre-dinner reception with Professor Norton at one of the most beautiful private residences in Boston's Back Bay.

ABOUT MARY BETH NORTON
One of the nation's most distinguished historians, Mary Beth Norton is the Mary Donlon Alger Professor of American History at Cornell University and author of the recent bestseller In the Devil's Snare: The Salem Witchcraft Crisis of 1692, the story of the witchcraft trials "as people in the 17th century would tell it." Her other books include the critically acclaimed Founding Mothers & Fathers, a Pulitzer Prize and Los Angeles Times finalist, and Liberty's Daughters: The Revolutionary Experience of American Women, 1750-1800.
Proceeds from this event support the Bringing Your Heritage Home Campaign, which advances the Society's commitment to preserving historic documents, online publication of unique databases, and excellence through genealogical education.
