From the Introduction to the book:
“The Town of Randolph, Kennebec County, was incorporated under the name of West Pittston, March 4, 1887. It comprised all that part of Pittston lying north of the south line of the Worromontogus stream. March 17, 1887, before its organization, its name was changed to Randolph.”
